We are seeking a talented Therapy Area Communications & Patient Advocacy Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the execution of communication and patient advocacy strategies for select assets in one of our international therapeutic areas. Your focus will be on achieving exceptional launch performance and brand impact through strategic activities, while leveraging real-time data and insights to inform tactics, measure impact and anticipate future trends. Collaboration with Corporate Communications, regional and global teams will ensure the exchange of information and alignment with our global strategy.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Drive and implement communication and patient advocacy strategy for therapeutic area and product-related initiatives. 
  • Proactively manage interdependencies with International TA Comm & Patient Advocacy team, overseeing global and country launch sequences and strategy implementation. 
  • Promote a predictive mindset, seeking multidirectional insights, embracing experimentation, and driving measurable actions. 
  • High level of data-fluency, ability to consistently improve tactical focus and execution through appropriate insights generation, data interpretation and rigorous, ongoing measurement to deliver desired long-term behaviour change in defined audiences 
  • Represent function on respective TA LT/product team and become trusted strategic business partner to TA Head/relevant internal stakeholders.  
  • Establish strategic and ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leading to business-aligned, long-term collaborations that are valued by and valuable for key audiences, and most importantly, patients. 
  • Proactively collaborate with other TA C&PA Managers, Public Affairs, cross-functional TA teams and regional peers to align country TA/product performance and strategic objectives. 
  • Embrace the Corporate Affairs and Novartis culture to drive external and internal impact consistently through new and different ways of working. High level of accountability, agility and curiosity in current and emerging work and how to constantly improve.  

 

• Essential Requirements:  

  • Higher degree level in relevant subject matter area (communications, policy, patient advocacy, marketing) 
  • Proven experience in diversified healthcare communications & patient advocacy in a matrix environment 
  • Brand communications, digital communications including social media strategy and implementation  
  • Patient advocacy including relationship development and HTA engagement 
  • Proactive influencing: Excellent people & communication skills ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct line management 
  • Highly evolved strategic thinking skills with proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels both internal and external  
  • Demonstrable data fluency, with significant knowledge of how to generate communications insights, set metrics based on insight and measure Leading medium/ large multi-functional teams
