About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BPE Analytics Sr. Specialist to join our Business Process Excellence Center of Excellence (COE). The successful candidate will be responsible for driving value to Novartis through continuous improvement activities across the enterprise. This involves steering the organization toward efficient operations by incorporating standard methods, tools, and techniques. Additionally, the candidate will develop, implement, and manage initiatives that enhance the CoE core skills, knowledge, and capabilities of associates throughout the organization. The role also includes supporting the building of a strategy for data management and engaging with BPE Champions and Global Process Owners (GPOs) to set and achieve continuous improvement related goals. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support CoE members with data mining and analytics across all functions and capabilities.
  • Responsible for defining, developing, and deploying methods, tools, and systems.
  • Contribute to developing overall program methods.
  • Build training materials and train teams and various stakeholder groups (BPE Capability Groups, GPOs, organizational units, global functions).
  • Harvest lessons learned from the BPE team and others applying the methods, tools, and systems.
  • Incorporate collected lessons learned into the methods, tools, and systems to improve them.
  • Support the delivery team by acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the methods, tools, and systems.
  • Monitor progress and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Apply the methods, tools, and systems in BPE engagements.
  • Advise stakeholders on best practices.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of process excellence methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, project management, and business process transformation is crucial. Familiarity with tools and techniques for process improvement and automation.
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop solutions. This includes data analysis, problem-solving, and the ability to interpret complex information.
  • Effective communication is vital for collaborating with various stakeholders, presenting ideas, and leading teams, encompassing both written and verbal communication skills.
  • A focus on continuous improvement and a commitment to driving efficiency and quality in processes. This involves staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
  • The ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across different departments and levels of the organization. Building strong relationships and fostering a culture of collaboration is essential.
  • Skills in managing change and guiding teams through transitions. This includes understanding the impact of changes on processes and people, and developing strategies to mitigate resistance. 
  • Experience in regulated environments, particularly the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively within diverse team settings, effectively operating and influencing others to achieve shared goals.
  • Well-organized and self-motivated, practical, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional experience in shared services, global capability centers, or similar.
  • Project-based certification in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (GB) or Black Belt (BB).
  • Proven record in delivering operational excellence projects.
  • Microsoft Power apps management.
  • Good understanding of new operational excellence (OPEX) methods, tools, and systems.
  • Ability to lead functional-technical discussions and deliver business-oriented, value-driven solutions.
  • Excellent capability to build and maintain internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficient in handling stakeholder needs and ensuring strict adherence to principles and standards.
